Trips
Keep flights, hotels, and car bookings together by forwarding your confirmations.
Building a trip
- Book your flight, hotel, or car as usual.
- Forward the confirmation to trips@gatherby.app from the email address on your Gatherby account.
- Gatherby reads it and adds each flight, stay, or car to the matching trip, in order.
Forward the next confirmation and it’s added to the same trip. Forwarded emails are sent to our AI provider to read them.
To plan ahead, select New on the Lists screen, then Trip, and give it a name. Dates are optional; the confirmations fill them in.
If a confirmation doesn’t appear
- It came from a different address
- Gatherby only accepts confirmations forwarded from the email address on your account. Addresses created by Apple’s Hide My Email won’t match, so forward from your account address.
- Gatherby couldn’t file it
- On the web, open Settings → Trips → Forwarded email to review emails that couldn’t be filed automatically.
- It went to the wrong trip, or a detail is wrong
- On the web, open Settings → Trips, choose the trip, and edit or remove the item under Itinerary. Select + Add an item to add something by hand.
- It isn’t a flight, hotel, or car booking
- Gatherby may not recognize other kinds of confirmations. Add them by hand instead.
Reading your itinerary
- In order, by segment
- Each flight, stay, and pickup appears on its own day, with the confirmation number and details.
- Local times
- Each time shows in the local time zone where it happens. A flight leaving at 8 a.m. reads 8 a.m. wherever you are.
- A cover photo
- A picture of your destination.
On your calendar
A trip appears as a single entry spanning the dates you’re away, rather than one entry per booking, so your household can see you’re traveling.
Sharing and printing
Share a read-only itinerary link. Anyone with the link can view the itinerary. You can also print the whole trip, or a single segment, as a print-friendly itinerary.
Turn off shared links
Open the trip and select Turn off shared links (on the web now, and on iPhone in the next app update). The itinerary link and the link for each item stop working right away. If you share the trip again, it gets a new link.
Past trips
The Trips card shows on the Lists screen while a trip is coming up. After a trip is over, you can still open it on the web in Settings → Trips.
