Quick notes

Write a shared note, then let Gatherby turn it into tasks, list items, or events. In the app, the note is titled Scratchpad.

Everyone in your household can read this pad - It’s one note for the whole household, not a private one per person. Don’t put anything there you wouldn’t want the household to see.

Writing a note

  1. Select the floating note button (📝 Jot a note… on the web).
  2. Type freely: one thing per line, or a longer list. You can also paste text, such as a reservation confirmation or a list someone texted you, or add a photo.
  3. Close it. The note saves automatically and is shared with your household.

Make sense

When you’re ready, select ✨ Make sense. The lines that haven’t been processed yet are sent to Anthropic’s AI to work out what each one is. They’re used only for this task, not to train AI models. Gatherby acts only on the lines it’s confident about:

A list item
“milk” goes on your grocery list, in a matching aisle. Items only go on lists you already have.
An event
A pasted reservation or appointment becomes an event in your Gatherby calendar on its date and time.
A task
A to-do becomes a task. It’s assigned only if your note names a person. Like any new task, it’s due today unless your note gives a date.
A note to keep
Reference information, such as a door code, is saved as a task without a due date so you can find it later.
Events to choose from
If a line asks Gatherby to find events, such as “find this season’s home games,” it lists what it finds at the bottom of the pad. Delete any you don’t want, then select ✨ Make sense again to add the rest to your calendar.

Lines it handled are struck through, and a message says how many things it sorted. Anything unclear stays on the pad for you to sort out.
