To Watch
Keep a watchlist, track what you’re watching, and rate what you’ve finished.
Adding a title
Type the name of a movie or show, for example “The Bear”, and add it. Gatherby looks it up and fills in the card.
If it picked the wrong title, open the card and select Not this one? to choose the right one. To update the details, select ✨ Refresh lookup.
What’s on the card
- The basics
- Year, whether it’s a movie or a show, genre, and runtime. The list groups titles by genre.
- Scores
- The IMDb rating and the Rotten Tomatoes score, when found.
- 📺 Where to stream
- Available streaming links, where found. Availability is for the United States and can change.
- Poster and summary
- The artwork and a short description of what it’s about.
To watch, Watching, and Watched
When you start something, select ▶ Watching now on its card. On iPhone, you can also swipe right on the title and tap Watching. When you finish, check it off. That marks it as watched and saves the date. The filter at the top switches between:
- To watch
- Titles you haven’t started. This is the default view.
- Watching
- What you’re in the middle of, most recently started first.
- Watched
- What you’ve finished.
- All
- Every title on the list.
Next to it, All, Movies, and Shows narrow the list to movies or series.
Tracking seasons
- Open a show’s card. Its seasons appear as chips: S1, S2, and so on.
- Select each season you’ve watched. Seasons that haven’t aired yet can’t be selected.
- Once every aired season is selected, the show counts as watched.
When a new season airs, a show you had finished moves back to To watch, and everyone in your household gets a notification.
To stop these notifications for yourself, turn off New seasons of shows. On the web it’s in Settings, under Alerts; on iPhone (in the next app update) it’s in Settings, under Notifications. It doesn’t change anyone else’s notifications.
Your reviews
Each adult can leave their own stars and a written review on a title. Everyone in the household can see them, and you can edit yours at any time.
Sharing a title
Select 📤 Share this card to create a web page for the title that you can send to a friend. It shows the poster, scores, where to stream it, and your household’s reviews with each reviewer’s name. Anyone with the link can see it. If the recipient uses Gatherby, they can add the title to their own list.
